I have received my NIF number—can I start selling?

The NIF (Número de Identificación Fiscal) in Spain is used for general tax purposes, such as filing tax returns. However, for cross-border trade within the EU, you need a VIES number, which is an extension of the NIF. This number is required to sell internationally and operate via Amazon. Without a VIES number, you cannot conduct European sales. Keep in mind that once you receive a NIF number, you are required to file tax returns in Spain.
